Kontort is the techno-focused alias of UK producer, DJ and live performer Andrew Wright. Drawing inspiration from the pioneering sounds of Detroit, the hypnotic energy of Berlin, and the raw machine funk of Birmingham, Kontort crafts driving, immersive techno built for the dancefloor. Alongside his DJ performances, he delivers improvised hardware live sets, creating unique, unrepeated journeys using a combination of drum machines, synthesizers and live manipulation. Combining deep grooves, powerful rhythms and evolving atmospheres, Kontort’s performances balance spontaneity with precision, honouring techno’s rich heritage while pushing forward with a distinctly contemporary approach.
